THE EDITED HUMAN
We live in an increasingly digitalised era. While it promises unprecedented freedom through connectivity and convenience, it also quietly erodes our senses and fuels growing uncertainty about who we are.
My work confronts this paradox, exploring the porous boundaries between technology and humanity. The Edited Human visualises how technology continually reshapes us—reconfiguring our identities, fragmenting our bodies, and dulling our perceptions. It seeks to expose the fractures and shadow concealed beneath the dazzling polish of algorithmic imagery. At its heart lie themes of sensory loss, disembodiment, and fractured identity.
I regard the human not as a fixed entity but as a fluid being, continuously remade by its technological environment. This body of work raises a pressing question: in an era of accelerating and democratised technology, what does it mean to inhabit a human body? Are we still grounded in lived, embodied experience, or are we drifting into becoming data-driven constructs?
Through a layered visual language, my work exposes the contradictions and unintended consequences hidden behind digital splendour. I believe art can move beyond visual pleasure to become a means of interrogating existence itself. With The Edited Human, my practice reconsiders our bodies, senses, and relationships with technology, and reflects on what it means to remain human in a landscape of perpetual transformation.

우리는 점점 더 디지털화된 시대에 살고 있다. 연결성과 편의성을 통한 전례 없는 자유를 누리지만, 감각의 조용한 상실이 일어나고 있으며, 우리가 누구인지에 대한 존재의 불확실성이 커지고 있다.
나의 작업은 이 모순에 맞서며, 기술과 인간 사이의 다공성 있는 경계을 탐구한다. 「The Edited Human」 시리즈는 기술이 어떻게 끊임없이 우리를 “편집”하는지를 보여준다. 이는 우리의 정체성을 재구성하고, 신체를 분절시키며, 지각을 둔화시킨다. 이 작업은 알고리즘적 이미지의 눈부신 표면 아래 감춰진 균열과 그림자를 드러내고자 한다. 그 중심에는 감각의 상실, 탈육체화, 그리고 파편화된 정체성이 놓여 있다.
나는 인간을 고정된 존재가 아니라, 기술적 환경에 의해 지속적으로 재구성되는 유동적인 존재로 간주한다. 이 작업은 중요한 질문을 던진다. 가속화되고 민주화된 기술의 시대에, 인간의 몸을 가진다는 것은 무엇을 의미하는가? 우리는 여전히 살아 있는 경험과 육체적 경험에 뿌리를 두고 있는가, 아니면 데이터로 주도되는 구성체로 떠밀려가고 있는가?
나의 작업은 다층적인 시각 언어를 통해 디지털적 화려함 뒤에 감춰진 균열, 모순, 의도치 않은 결과를 드러낸다. 나는 예술이 단순한 시각적 쾌락을 넘어 존재 자체를 탐구하는 수단이 될 수 있다고 믿는다. 「The Edited Human」을 통해 자신의 몸과 감각, 그리고 기술과의 관계를 다시 성찰하고, 끊임없이 변화하는 세상 속에서 인간으로 남는다는 것이 무엇을 의미하는지를 보여주고자 한다 .
