DIVERSITY NOW 2017: THE DEATH OF RACISM
Nowadays, there is a lot of racism problems in the world society. Some people judge people by skin colours and have a prejudice of race. But, skin colour is just colour. I think we have various cultural colours in our heart and background such as culture, education and childhood Because we experience many different cultural things in our whole life. To express these things, I painted many faces and various skin colours. All faces connected and combine each other in the painting. Inspiring from Rene Magritte “The Lovers”, I made a silk scarf printed my painting artwork.
The title of my photograph is “The death of racism”. I wanted to express that the racism must be dead and disappear in our society. I was inspired by Rene Magritte artworks and a stiff pose Victorian post-mortem photography of a deceased person. I took photography in the very dark atmosphere place. I covered the face of the model using the scarf I made. Also, I made my collage piece overlapped on the face. Scarf represents the diversity, equality and also depicts death. Projected the face collage is about various skin colours.
Many people suffer from racial discrimination. But, If we respect ethnic diversity and equality in the society, racial discrimination will disappear.
인종차별의 죽음
오늘날, 세계 사회에는 많은 인종차별 문제들이 벌어지고 있다. 어떤 사람들은 피부색으로 사람을 판단하고 인종에 대한 편견을 가지고 있다. 하지만, 피부색은 단지 색일 뿐이다. 우리가 문화, 교육, 어린 시절과 같은 우리의 마음과 배경에는 다양한 문화적 색채를 가지고 있다고 생각한다. 왜냐하면 우리는 일생 동안 많은 다양한 문화적인 것들을 경험하기 때문이다. 이러한 것들을 표현하기 위해, 나는 많은 얼굴과 다양한 피부색을 칠했다. 그림에서 모든 면이 서로 연결되고 결합되어 있다. 르네 마그리트 "연인"으로부터 영감을 받아, 저는 제 그림 작품을 인쇄한 실크 스카프를 만들었다.
작품의 제목은 "인종차별의 죽음"이다. 인종차별이 우리 사회에서 죽어서 사라져야 한다고 표현하고 싶었다. 르네 마그리트 미술작품과 빅토리아 시대의 죽은 사람의 딱딱한 사후 사진으로부터 영감을 받았다. 매우 어두운 분위기 속에서 사진을 찍고, 내가 만든 스카프로 모델의 얼굴을 가렸다. 그리고 콜라주 조각을 얼굴에 겹치게 표현했다. 스카프는 다양성, 평등을 나타내며 또한 죽음을 묘사한다. 얼굴 콜라주는 다양한 피부색에 대해 투영됩니다.
많은 사람들이 지금도 인종 차별에 시달린다. 그러나, 우리가 사회의 인종적 다양성과 평등을 존중하려고 노력한다면, 차별은 점차 사라질 것이다.
