The Mexican festival "Day of the Dead" is a culture similar to Korea. So I imagined what the day of the dead would look like, drawing this picture inspired by the rituals of Mexico and Korea. The sincere rituals of comforting the dead with the earnest prayer are so touching and impressive. Even though we cannot meet the dead face to face, we have a traditional ceremony that we can remember and honour their dead souls who have lost their bodies. Also, we can recall beautiful moments that were with them.
죽은 자와의 만남의 날 멕시코 축제는 한국과 비슷한 문화이다. 그래서 나는 죽은 자들의 날이 어떤 모습일지 상상해서 멕시코와 우리나라의 의식에서 영감을 받아 이 그림을 그렸다. 살아있는 자들의 간절한 기도와 정성스러운 의식으로 죽은 자들의 영혼을 위로해주고, 그 영혼의 감정을 서로 느끼는 시간을 만드는 의식은 정말 아름답고, 감동적이다. 육체를 잃은 죽은 영혼들이 잊히지 않게 기억할 수 있는 좋은 풍습이 있어, 우리가 그들을 직접 만날 수는 없지만, 그들과의 추억을 되돌아볼 수 있는 아름다운 순간을 경험할 수 있다.
